My Story

Roots in Exile

Born in exile in Angola in 1983, my journey to becoming a naturalist guide began long before I even knew it. My parents, Elizabeth Aipenge Nangombe and David Longeni Nangombe, sought refuge there in the mid-1970s amidst Namibia’s war for independence. I spent my first six years immersed in Angola’s landscapes before returning to Namibia in 1989.

The call of the wild (sub title)
My love affair with Namibia’s wild heart was ignited during a school excursion to Etosha National Park. I vividly remember being captivated by its raw beauty, a moment that sparked an undeniable calling: to share this incredible place with the world. Guiding felt like the most natural path.

Across African Landscape

Experience in the Field

For the past 19 years, I’ve honed my craft, starting my professional journey with Wilderness Safaris and undergoing rigorous training, including a transformative period in uMfolozi, South Africa, through the Wilderness Leadership Training program.

My expertise spans the breadth of Southern Africa’s iconic landscapes, from the awe-inspiring Fish River Canyon and the dramatic dunes of Sossusvlei to the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha and the and the untouched remoteness of Kaokoland
My work has also taken me deep into Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and the vast Kalahari Desert.

The Naturalist’s Perspective

Observing and Storytelling

As a naturalist guide specializing in astronomy and landscape photography, I bring together deep ecological knowledge with a passion for storytelling.

Whether under a starlit sky or in the silence of the desert, I aim to offer more than just a safari — I offer a connection. To land. To light. To life.
Let me guide you through the Africa I know and love.
